11" & 10"

Uses a 23807ST 10" Torque Converter.
I wanted to thank Turbo Action for an excellent product! The 10"
converter you sent me is an excellent street/strip piece. While still
fine for driving daily, it has the ability to make the car leave (see
pictures) and produce times like these:
Best 60' -
1.635
Just
wanted to say "THANKS!" I've made more money racing with your converters
than anyone else's. My reaction times were between .002 and .041-
with an average R/T of .020.

P.S. If I had used the original 10" you recommended, I may have been able to run the NSS/D class (11.50).
The 11" Street "S-800" Series Converter is mild compared to the 10" Street "S-800" Series Converter. They both provide an increase in stall speed for quicker "hole shot" response. Performance for "mild to wild" street camshafts. Prevent bogging out of the hole problem with wild street cam (not more than 290 advertised duration). Engine torque is a factor in determining stall speed of any converter. The listed stall speeds on our chart can only be approximate. These converters are not designed to be used if the vehicle is activating nitrous and/or transmission brake. The Street "S-800" Converters are designed for street application and limited drag strip competition. Not designed for mud bogging vehicles. Other models available for these applications. The Street "S-800" Series Converters feature furnace brazed pump side, pump side needle bearings and all models incorporate a chrome moly neck. Turbine is not furnace brazed but needle bearing equipped. Turbine fins are tig weld and turbine hub is made of chrome moly, except for Part #17800, 17801, 19800 or 19801 which have furnace brazed turbines. The General Motors 10" and 11" models are set up for Turbo Hydro 350 bolt pattern. May require changing flywheel. The Chrysler and American Motors 11" models are set up with OEM stock bolt size pads (5/16"). The 10" models are set up with 7/16" size bolt pads. Order our Part #17106 (7/16") Converter Bolts for 10". The Chrysler 10" models, if for 6-bolt crank, requires Flexplate Part #17100SFI and if for 8-bolt crank, requires Flexplate Part #17103SFI. The 10" "S-800" Series Converters are available in three versions: Loose, Medium and Tight. The standard unit is built Loose for best ET for the dollar. The Medium and Tight versions are better for drivability on the street. Some guidelines to determine which version to choose if car is 80-90% used on the street: For Chrysler and General Motors small blocks up to 340cu.in., use the standard model medium (17805SMED etc.); for 350cu.in. to 500cu.in., use the Tight (23807STetc.). The Chrysler models available by special order if 1971up for engines requiring engine balance. Therefore, give year, cubic inch and if possible, the size of the weights on stock converter. |
